Mahndoo party

Lots of parties. Yesterday...a gourmet feast courtesy of ES/SS. Great times!!! Man, we were up 'til like 2AM at their place playing crazy games. Did you know that there are only 1600 Giant Pandas left in the world? Or did you know that the most common guy's name in the USA is James? Or did you know that the best way to keep sharks away is to fart? J/K : ) Who knew? These are the things you discover at @2AM at ES/SS's place. Plus, you get to meet J-Pop Stars and eat gourmet food. Can't beat that deal anywhere!!!

Today we celebrated Christmas Eve with a Mahndoo party. Good times. Man, making Mahn-doo is hard work. Hey, doesn't this look like a brain?

Don't worry!!! It's not. Just some noodles for the dumplings. You've got to squeeze all of the water out of the various ingredients for the stuffing. That way the stuffing for the dumpling isn't so watery.

Mr. Squee-gee with bed-head.... My food processor.... Aaaaahhhh....we can eat at last....

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Winter Solstice

Yes, I realize that it's been a while since I've blogged. Quite frankly, it's that darn job that keeps getting in the way. I've been helping deliver the future of America...quite literally.

I've been working on the Labor & Delivery floors of the hospital putting in epidurals and placing spinals for laboring women as well as delivering other forms of anesthesia for cesarean sections and other procedures. Sorry about that run-on sentence. I am feeling unusually Paul-ine or Tolkienesque tonight. : )

In front of Brigham @ 6:30AM.

I must say that although I absolutely love my job and don't regret going into medicine...especially anesthesia where we have to get up super-early, winter can really suck. Why? Because when we go to work, the sun hasn't risen yet...

The view coming out of Brigham @ 5PM.
....and when we come home the sun has already set.

Praise God that the Winter Solstice is tomorrow because the days can only get longer from here on out. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year. Things can only get better from here on out. I might actually see the sun again at some point later in 2007. : )

Only 12 clinical days left for me. Starting in January 3rd, I'll primarily be doing research until July. I only have to work in the ORs once a week and take call 2x/month. Sweetness! I could really use the recoop time to study, read, and do some other things (music, work on my Spanish and Korean, maybe even cook...don't tell my wife...don't want to get her hopes up too much), oh, and yes...do research. Can you tell I'm looking forward to it?
